    Most of our dishes don't contain gluten. However, all our food is prepared in the same kitchen and we cannot guarantee the absence of cross-contamination. There may be trace amounts of gluten in any of our dishes. Please let our team know when you arrive — we'll do our best to guide you towards the most suitable options.

    Le Conteur is a Mediterranean restaurant in the heart of Brussels. Our menu celebrates sun-drenched southern flavors: tapas, sharing plates, mezze, grilled vegetables, marinated meats, alongside touches of Middle Eastern inspiration. Everything is designed to be placed in the center of the table and shared. Generous, festive cuisine — made for guests who love to taste everything.

    Yes — Le Conteur has a cocktail bar in the heart of Brussels. Our menu features a selection of signature cocktails inspired by Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors, alongside reimagined classics. Our team can also create custom cocktail offerings for groups or private events.

  • Do you have vegetarian and vegan dishes ?

    Yes. Our chef has thought of you and offers several vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. Mediterranean cuisine naturally lends itself to vegetable, legume and grain-based dishes — you'll find plenty of tapas and sharing plates that celebrate market produce. Feel free to let our team know your preferences when booking.

  • Do you serve tapas and sharing plates?

    Yes — it's our signature. Le Conteur's menu is built entirely around Mediterranean tapas and sharing plates. Mezze, small hot and cold plates, market vegetables, grilled meats and fish — everything arrives at the center of the table to be shared. Perfect for a convivial evening with friends, as a couple, or in a group.

  • What's the difference between the 2 services?

    Le Conteur offers two very distinct services, for two different atmospheres.

    6pm – 7:45pm: the relaxed service. A calm and convivial atmosphere, perfect for a dinner with friends, a date or a business meal. Children are welcome.

    8pm – midnight (1am on weekends): the festive service. Music, energy, sometimes dancing — the ideal atmosphere to celebrate a birthday, mark a special occasion or spend a memorable evening in Brussels. This service is adults only.

  • How can we book a table ?

    You can book your table directly on our website, in just a few clicks. You'll receive a booking confirmation by email (please check your spam folder). If your preferred day or time slot isn't available, you can join our waiting list — our team will contact you as soon as a table becomes available. For groups of more than 8 people, please use our dedicated group reservation form.

  • How do group reservations work ?

    Groups are welcome at Le Conteur! Any reservation for more than 8 people is considered a group reservation.

    On Fridays and Saturdays, we welcome groups of up to 20 people to guarantee the best service. During the week (Tuesday to Thursday), we can accommodate larger groups.

    Group reservations are made exclusively through our dedicated form, in the Groups section of our website. Our team will respond within 24 to 48 hours with a personalized quote. For full private hire, please plan at least 2 months in advance.

  • Can we book Le Conteur for a birthday or private event?

    Yes — Le Conteur regularly hosts birthdays, private events, corporate evenings and celebrations. Depending on your group size, we offer either group reservations or full private hire of the restaurant. Private hire requests must be made at least 2 months in advance. Our sharing menus are perfect for large tables (from €45/person). Request your quote via our groups form.

  • Does Le Conteur have a terrace?

    Yes — Le Conteur has a terrace in the heart of Brussels, open Tuesday to Saturday evenings whenever the weather allows. Steps away from Grand Place and the Bourse, it's one of the most sought-after spots in the city center — perfect for an end-of-day aperitivo, a summer dinner or a long evening of sharing Mediterranean tapas. Reservation strongly recommended on weekends.

The atmosphere shifts throughout the evening: calm and warm between 6pm and 7:45pm, then festive from 8pm onwards with music, energy and sometimes even dancing.     Of course! Le Conteur is a dog-friendly restaurant in the heart of Brussels. Your four-legged companion is welcome, both inside and on the terrace in warmer months. We're happy to provide a water bowl on request.

    Le Conteur is located at 32 Rue du Marché aux Poulets, 1000 Brussels — a 3-minute walk from Grand Place and right next to the Bourse. We're in the heart of Brussels' historic center, on a lively street full of restaurants and bars — perfect for soaking up the city center atmosphere before or after dinner.

  • How do I get to Le Conteur by public transport?

    Le Conteur is very easy to reach. The Bourse metro station (lines 3 and 4) and De Brouckère station (lines 1 and 5) are both less than a 5-minute walk away. Brussels Central station is a 10-minute walk. Several bus and tram lines also serve the neighborhood. Ideal if you're coming from outside Brussels.
